Privacy Policy
Piksel Consulting Inc. ("Piksel", "we", "us") is a technology consultancy based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and other Canadian privacy law that applies to us.
What we collect
We collect personal information only when you send us a message through the contact form or email us directly. The form asks for:
- your name and email address (required);
- your company and the service you are interested in (optional);
- the message you write, which may include anything you choose to tell us.
Please do not include sensitive information (such as health, financial account or government identification details) in your message.
Our web host may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use these logs to identify you.
Why we collect it
We use your details to read and respond to your enquiry, and to follow up about the work you asked about. We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box on the form. We do not use your details for marketing unless you separately ask us to.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and handle email, and only as far as needed to do that:
- our web hosting provider (Namecheap);
- our email provider; and
- the form service used to deliver contact form messages: Formspree.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Alberta or Canada, so it may be subject to the laws of those places. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or social media plug-ins. Fonts and images are served from this site. If we add analytics later, we will choose a privacy-friendly option and ask for your consent first.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages for 24 months after our last contact with you, unless we start working together, in which case we keep records as long as the work and our legal obligations require. We then delete or anonymize them.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, including HTTPS for this website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You may also withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. To do so, email us using the address below. We will respond within the time required by law.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
